Book Report: Audrey Hepburn in Hats
/The first blog post is a daunting task. Getting settled to write can be difficult enough but then, with pen and paper at hand…what to write?!
After some thought, it seemed most appropriate that the first post for Reginae Hats would be that of a hat-wearing icon: Audrey Hepburn.
Conveniently enough, I own the aptly titled Audrey Hepburn in Hats, and highly recommend this tome for your style library.

Sublime actress and dedicated humanitarian, Hepburn was and continues to be revered for her style. And while her clothes are magnificent, I love that this book pays homage to her hat style — in part because that’s how I recall my introduction as a young girl watching My Fair Lady. Oh, those hats!
It's difficult to choose a favorite among the many images, but I'm highlighting a few that I just love.

Aside from the Introduction, text accompanying each photo is short, and the brevity is welcome — it simply provides basic information for context and allows the reader to focus on the hats and photography.

At 128 pages, the book follows a young Audrey through her rise to style stardom concluding with a photo from 1979. Photographers include Bob Willoughby, Bud Fraker, and the always superb Cecil Beaton.
